A two-room kit costs from 1,052 € for the equipment if you build it from one outdoor unit and two indoor units. A ready-made factory kit is 1 360 €. Installation is priced separately, after a site survey.
Now for the awkward part you will hardly read in anyone else’s offer. Two separate split systems almost always come out cheaper— and with more capacity, too. You buy a multi-split for the single outdoor unit on the facade, not to save money. Below are prices from our warehouse as of September 2026 and the math that shows it in black and white.
Prices for Kits with Two Indoor Units
All kits are in stock. The outdoor unit sets the capacity ceiling; the indoor units decide how it is split between the rooms.
| Two-room kit | Capacity | SEER / SCOP | Equipment price |
|---|---|---|---|
| AUX AM2-H14/4DR3 + 2× AMWM-H07 | 14 000 BTU | 6,16 / 4,6 | 1 052 € |
| AUX AM2-H18/4DR3S + 2× AMWM-H09 | 18 000 BTU | 7,07 / 4,07 | 1 144 € |
| KAISAI K2OE-18HFN32H + 2× KWX-09KRHI | 18 000 BTU | 6,1 / 4,0 | 1 277 € |
| LG RM2U15.U18 + 2× RMN09.NSJ (ready-made kit) | 16 000 BTU | 8,09 / 4,0 | 1 360 € |
| Gree GWHD(18)NK6LOO + 2× U-CROWN GWH09UB | 18 000 BTU | – | 1 693 € |
If you already have indoor units or want different types in different rooms, here are just the two-room outdoor units in stock:
| Outdoor unit for 2 indoor units | Capacity | Price |
|---|---|---|
| AUX AM2-H14/4DR3 | 14 000 BTU | 709 € |
| AUX AM2-H18/4DR3S | 18 000 BTU | 778 € |
| KAISAI K2OE-18HFN32H | 18 000 BTU | 838 € |
| Gree GWHD(18)NK6LOO | 18 000 BTU | 906 € |
| LG MU2R15.UL0 | 15 000 BTU | 1 053 € |
| Toshiba RAS-2M14G3AVG-E | 14 000 BTU | 1 222 € |

| Mitsubishi Electric MXZ-2F42VF | 14 000 BTU | 1 697 € |
| Daikin 2MXM40A | 14 000 BTU | 1 844 € |
Indoor units are added separately. AUX AMWM-H07 is 172 €, AMWM-H09 is 183 €, AMWM-H12 is 188 €, and KAISAI KWX-09KRHI is 219 €.
The Math That Changes the Decision
The expectation is logical: one outdoor unit instead of two should mean a lower price. The data says otherwise.
| Two-room solution | Total capacity | Area covered | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Multi-split AUX AM2-H14 + 2× AMWM-H07 | 14 000 BTU | 30 m² | 1 052 € |
| Two separate TechPoint TCP H09 MAXCOOL | 18 000 BTU | 34 m² | 600 € |
The difference is 452 €, or 75% in favor of the two separate air conditioners. And that is even though they deliver 4,000 BTU more and cover 4 m² more. If we match the capacity — that is, take an 18,000 BTU multi-split for 1,144 € — the difference grows to 544 €, or 91%.
Why is that? With a multi-split you pay for a more complex outdoor unit with several independent connections and the electronics that manage them, plus each indoor unit separately. With two separate air conditioners you are buying two complete, mass-produced machines. Mass production wins.
There is a second cost that rarely gets factored in up front. With a multi-split, the refrigerant lines run from one point to each room separately and are almost always longer than with two air conditioners, each installed next to its own outdoor unit. So installation costs more too.
When a Multi-Split Is Really Worth It
There are four cases where that 450 to 550 € is justified. None of them is about saving money.
The facade allows only one outdoor unit. This is the number one reason in Varna. A condo association, a heritage-protected building or a developer’s requirement in new construction, and a second unit is simply off the table.
There is no physical room for two units. A narrow balcony, a short stretch of facade, a neighbor’s window less than a meter away. Two units won’t fit without blowing on each other.
Aesthetics. One unit on a new or freshly renovated facade looks different from two. For some customers this is decisive; for others it doesn’t matter.
One hole in the wall instead of two. Sounds minor. It stops sounding minor when the wall is solid masonry or has an expensive finish.
If none of the four applies to you, get two separate air conditioners and keep the money. We’ll tell you the same thing on site during the survey.
How to Put Together a Two-Room Kit
First, size each room separately. The benchmark for an apartment in good condition is about 100 W per square meter. Up to 15 m², a 7,000 BTU unit is enough; up to 18 m², go for 9,000 BTU; up to 25 m², you are looking at 12,000 BTU. The detailed method is in our guide how many BTU you need.
Then choose the outdoor unit. Here is the nuance that throws off most calculations: the outdoor unit’s capacity is not the simple sum of the indoor units. A 14,000 BTU outdoor unit normally serves two 7,000 BTU units, where the sum is exactly 14,000. But an 18,000 BTU outdoor unit comfortably handles two 12,000 BTU units, because the two rooms very rarely need maximum output at the same time. Permitted combinations are listed in the documentation for the specific model, and we check them before quoting.
Choose the type of indoor units. They don’t have to be identical. Wall-mounted units are the cheapest and most common, from 172 €. There are also ducted (from 384 €), floor (from 403 €) and cassette types (from 434 €), but they cost more and need a suspended ceiling, so they are planned at the renovation stage. The full selection is in the category multi-split systems.
Finally, compare efficiency, not just price. There is a 641 € gap between the cheapest and the most expensive kit in the table, but the more important number is a different one. The ready-made kit LG has SEER 8,09 versus 6.1 to 7.07 for the others, making it noticeably more economical for cooling, and comes with a 60-month warranty instead of 36 for the AUX and KAISAI outdoor units. That is 308 € more than the AUX kit. If the system will run every summer for the next ten years, the math is worth doing.
The reverse is also true. If you need maximum heating, AUX AM2-H14 has the highest SCOP 4,6 in the table and is also the cheapest option in it.
Ready-Made Kit or Custom Combination
A ready-made kit is an outdoor unit and two indoor units in a single item. It is more predictable: compatibility is guaranteed by the factory, the warranty covers everything, and you can’t get the combination wrong. One example is the LG RM2U15.U18 with two 9,000 BTU units for 1,360 €.
A custom combination is cheaper and more flexible. You can put 7,000 BTU in the bedroom and 12,000 BTU in the living room instead of two identical units, and with AUX the price difference is noticeable: 1,052 € instead of 1,360 €.
The rule is simple. Rooms of the same size: get a ready-made kit. Rooms of different sizes: build your own.
What You Can’t Do with a Multi-Split
Three limitations worth knowing before, not after, you buy.
- One mode for all rooms. Residential multi-split systems run on a shared refrigerant circuit. You can’t cool the living room and heat the bedroom at the same time: the choice is shared. Temperature is set separately in each room; the mode is not.
- A shared breakdown. If the outdoor unit stops, every room stops at once. With two separate air conditioners, the second one keeps running.
- Tied to the brand. The indoor units must be from the same series as the outdoor unit. Five years from now you can’t simply add a unit from another manufacturer.
If these are exactly the things that matter to you, see the detailed explanation in our article what is a multi-split system.
Three Rooms or More: The Math Doesn’t Change
The same comparison, but for three rooms:
| Three-room solution | Capacity | Price |
|---|---|---|
| AUX AM3-H21/4DR3 + 3× AMWM-H07 | 21 000 BTU | 1 455 € |
| KAISAI K3OA-27HFN32H (outdoor) | 27 000 BTU | 1 124 € |
| Three separate TechPoint TCP H09 | 27 000 BTU | 900 € |
Same direction: 555 € in favor of separate air conditioners. The economy of scale with a multi-split never materializes. For 4 and 5 rooms, outdoor units reach 1 329 € and 1 825 € for the outdoor unit alone, without a single indoor unit.
Installation in Varna
Multi-split installation is priced only after a site survey. That is not caution, it is physics: the price depends on the length of the lines to each room, the number of wall penetrations, access to the outdoor unit location, and whether the work is done by rope access or from a lift. That is why we don’t publish a fixed price. Any figure quoted before the site has been seen is either inflated or will change later.
The survey is free. We come, measure and tell you whether a multi-split is the right solution for your case at all — including when the answer is “get two separate air conditioners.” Service details: air conditioner installation in Varna.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does an air conditioner with two indoor units cost?
From 1,052 € for the equipment as a custom combination (AUX AM2-H14 with two 7,000 BTU units) and 1,360 € for a ready-made LG factory kit. Installation is extra, after a site survey.
Is it cheaper than two separate air conditioners?
No. Two separate air conditioners come out about 450 to 550 € cheaper for the same or higher capacity. A multi-split is chosen for the single outdoor unit on the facade, not for the price.
Can I cool one room and heat the other?
No. Residential multi-split systems use a shared mode for all indoor units. A separate temperature for each room, yes. A separate mode, no.
Can the two indoor units have different capacities?
Yes, and that is one of the main reasons to build a custom combination. For example, 7,000 BTU for the bedroom and 12,000 BTU for the living room. The combination must be within the limits allowed for the specific outdoor unit.
What outdoor unit capacity do I need for two rooms?
For two rooms of about 15 m² each, 14,000 BTU is enough. For two rooms of up to 18 or 20 m², go for 18,000 BTU. Accurate sizing starts from the area and insulation of each room individually.
Can I add a third indoor unit later?
Only if the outdoor unit was designed for three or more units from the start. An outdoor unit for two cannot be expanded. So if there is any chance you will air-condition a third room, get an outdoor unit for three now.
