Frequently Asked Questions
Short answers to the questions our customers ask most often — about choosing, capacity, installation and running costs.
Installation
How do I choose the right air conditioner capacity?
Capacity is chosen based on the floor area and characteristics of the room. As a rule of thumb:
up to ~20 m² → 9000 BTU
20–35 m² → 12000 BTU
35–50 m² → 18000 BTU
With strong sun exposure, poor insulation or large shop windows, you may need a more powerful model.
What is the difference between 9000 / 12000 / 18000 BTU?
BTU indicates cooling/heating capacity:
9000 BTU → small rooms, bedrooms
12000 BTU → living rooms, medium-sized rooms
18000 BTU → large rooms, open-plan spaces
The larger the room, the higher the BTU rating you need.
Inverter or standard air conditioner?
An inverter air conditioner adjusts its output smoothly and holds a steady temperature, which means lower power consumption and quieter operation. Standard (on/off) models are cheaper, but less efficient and prone to bigger temperature swings.
Is an air conditioner suitable for heating?
Yes. Modern inverter air conditioners heat efficiently even at low outdoor temperatures. Models with a high energy class and a good COP/SCOP rating are an excellent choice for the winter season.
How much electricity does it use?
Consumption depends on the energy class, operating mode and the room’s insulation. A++/A+++ inverter air conditioners can significantly reduce consumption. Actual usage varies with the set temperature and outdoor conditions.
Choosing an Air Conditioner
Which air conditioner is right for an apartment?
The choice depends on the floor area, layout, orientation and insulation. For most apartments, the best option is an inverter air conditioner that holds a stable temperature and runs economically. It is important that the unit is correctly sized for the room.
How do I choose the right air conditioner capacity?
Capacity is determined mainly by floor area:
up to ~20 m² → 9000 BTU
20–35 m² → 12000 BTU
35–50 m² → 18000 BTU
Factors such as sun exposure, large windows or poor insulation may call for a higher capacity.

Inverter or standard air conditioner?
Inverter models adjust their output smoothly, which reduces power consumption and noise. Standard (on/off) air conditioners are cheaper, but less efficient and prone to bigger temperature swings.
Is an air conditioner suitable for heating?
Yes. Modern inverter air conditioners heat efficiently even at low outdoor temperatures. For winter use, we recommend models with a high SCOP and a quality compressor.
